Rosenlaui Glacier Gorge – when “next time” becomes “back then”

That sounds rather poetic now, with a slightly bitter note.
But it’s not quite like that.

For me, there are two ways of measuring time.
“When I could still walk properly” and “Since I can no longer walk properly.”

An impressive piece of nature.

The experience has never really left me.
I always thought it was a shame that we didn’t have quite enough time that day to really linger and enjoy it.
That’s why I always wanted to do this hike a second time and then take plenty of time to let the power of the water sink in.

Unfortunately, that never happened. And now, in the era of “since I can no longer walk properly,” this is another wish I can no longer fulfill.

That doesn’t mean I can’t do anything anymore. There are still so many other things I can do.

But it does mean this: If a place impresses you, take the time to really let it sink in. Don’t wait until next time.
Sometimes there simply isn’t a next time.
